We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our Hanahan Hawks Athletics family, Coach Jaime Koch, who will be taking on the role of Varsity Girls Volleyball Head Coach. Coach Koch brings an impressive resume, a passion for the sport, and a deep connection to the Lowcountry community.
A graduate of the College of Charleston, Coach Koch earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. Her teaching and coaching career began in 2005 at Laing Middle School in Mount Pleasant, SC, where she not only led the athletic department but also served as head of the Physical Education program. During her tenure, she earned recognition as Charleston County’s Rookie Teacher of the Year in 2005 and Laing Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2006.
Coach Koch’s dedication extends far beyond the classroom. She was named Volunteer of the Year by the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department in 2009 and received the Hanahan Recreation Department Coaches Appreciation Award in 2022. Her commitment to fostering athletic excellence and sportsmanship has positively impacted countless young athletes throughout her career.
In addition to her extensive coaching experience, which dates back to 2006, Coach Koch founded CrossCourt Athletics, a faith-based intramural sports program for adults in the Lowcountry. This initiative provided adult athletes with opportunities to connect, compete, and grow in a supportive environment for over a decade.
Coach Koch’s connection to Hanahan runs deep. She and her husband, Wes, have been married for 20 years and are proud parents to two teenage daughters who are also Hanahan athletes. Her personal and professional investment in our community makes her a perfect fit for our Hawks family.
As we look ahead to the future of our volleyball program, we are confident that Coach Koch’s leadership, experience, and dedication will elevate our team to new heights. Please join us in giving her a warm welcome to Hanahan High School!
