Spring has sprung! We hope all our students have a safe and fun spring break! Students will return to school April 21.

Parents and guardians,
Today, our administration received a report regarding the possible presence of ammunition in a student's backpack on campus. Administrators, with support from the school resource officer, immediately investigated the matter. Upon investigation, empty/spent ammunition cartridges were found. However, no weapon was located, and there were no reports indicating the presence of a weapon. The investigation determined that the backpack had been used over the weekend for recreational purposes, and the empty cartridges were a result of that activity.
The school was not placed on lockdown, as the student was promptly isolated, and there was no immediate threat to campus safety. District and school staff followed all established procedures in accordance with District policies. At no point was any student harmed or threatened.
The safety and security of our students remain our highest priority, and we take all reports of potential safety concerns seriously. We encourage families to partner with us by checking their child's backpacks and jackets to ensure no prohibited items are brought onto campus. We appreciate students who help to keep our campus safe.

Good Evening Parents and Guardians,

Our students have a growth mindset! Because our middle school students had the most growth in their i-Ready math scores over the first semester, our school secured the coveted i-Ready Super School banner.

Not only did our PTA knock it out of the park with last week's Multicultural Night, our generous PTA also sponsored two artists to work with several grade levels! Our second, fourth and eighth graders learned about the indigo plant, how the dye is processed, its importance in SC history, and created a "shibori" indigo dyed fabric square with artist Cat Brantley from Sister Moon Studio, while our fifth, sixth and seventh graders took part in a Gullah Experience presented by Corey Alston!
Everyone learned new information and really enjoyed the programs! Thank you PTA!!
