Hawk Athlete of the Week 2020-2021

Hanahan High School has partnered with Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers to recognize one student-athlete each week.  Each in-season varsity head coach will nominate one athlete and the athletic department will determine who is deserving of this weekly award. The athlete of the week does not only consider each athlete’s game-time performance stats but also their acts as leaders and mentors on their perspective teams.

Oct 18 – 24, 2020-Nicholas Fagley

Congratulations to senior Nicholas Fagley for being named the Raising Canes Hanahan Athlete of the Week for October 18-24, 2020.  On Tuesday, October 20th, Nicholas set a new personal record not only for the season, but also for his entire three-year tenure on the Hawk Cross Country team. It is a rather remarkable personal record because the course on which he accomplished this is well-known to be slower than average, due to its frequent turns, small elevation changes, and surface changes from grass, to packed dirt, to gravel and back again—simply put, most competitors have extended race times on this course, whereas Nicholas reached his peak performance.
