Hawks News · Spring Senior Athlete Spotlight 5/14/20

Over the next few weeks, the Hanahan Athletic Department would like to spotlight our Spring Seniors. We will be posting “Senior Spotlights” to recognize our seniors and their commitment to Hanahan Athletics.

Today’s Track and Field Spotlight is Austin Davis. This was Austin first year at Hanahan High School.  He played right guard in football and the shot-put event for track this year.

After High School Austin plans to attend the Citadel, Majoring in Computer Sciences, Minor in Cyber Security.

The thing that Austin has missed most about this season is “I wish I could play football for a 2nd year but I’m a senior.”

Austin’s favorite memory from track was “Breaking my record throwing distance during the last throw of a track meet.”

Austin’s words of advice to younger athletes. “Always give it 100%. Even if you fail, fail at 100 mph. Don’t be scared and learn from your mistakes.”

Austin’s favorite or memorable quote from a coach is “Hit em’”-Author Unknown

We want to thank our seniors for their commitment over their time as a Hanahan Athlete. We know that they are going to go on and accomplish great things.

Be on the lookout for our next “Senior Spotlight”.
